
Description
A hospital sitter is responsible for providing continuous bedside observation for patients who are at risk of falling, wandering, or injuring themselves. The sitter is required to stay alert and attentive to the patient's needs at all times, and to communicate with the nursing staff as needed. The sitter is also responsible for monitoring and reporting changes in the patient's condition or behavior, and for documenting observations in the patient's medical record. The hospital sitter must be able to maintain confidentiality, follow safety procedures, and communicate effectively with patients, family members, and healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent observation and communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.
Requirements
Certification as a home health aide or nursing assistantÂ
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients
Valid Drivers License
Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assignment
Ability to lift and move patients as needed
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Basic computer skills, including proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
Compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality (such as HIPAA)
